Young Adult Resource Persons
How it all began:
YARPs have always been a part of my church experience. I guess I first really met and dealt with them when I helped plan the Junior High Gathering (’97). Kristine Walsh is the one I remember from that group. I also attended Lutheran Camp Chrysalis at a young age and remember couselors from that time.
Mission Statement:
Matthew 5:16 -"Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven."
What it means to me:
-Time to forget all about school and anything else and just have a great time letting the kid in me out. I love hanging out with the youth and like the opportunity to see some of the campers from the summer. I love that look in their eyes when I say I remember them!
– Its also time to be with other college age peers who have the same morals and beliefs as me.
Where has it led me?:
-I now claim many wonderful prayer partners and friends from this time in my life.
-I learned responsibilities and wonderful speaking skills.
-Preparing for bible studies and devotions was my favorite thing. I usually learned more from my youth than I would have got out of a passage if I studied it for a week.
