You.
You are so much more to me than just a tax relief, or a break from having to be a full-time mom, or someone to hold. You are amazing.
I know sometimes you think I don’t notice all of the things you do around the house and with your daughter, I do, I’m just horrible at telling you how much they mean to me. I need to work on that.
You make me want to be better for you.
You protect me. You want to fix me when I’m broken or sad. You know that you can’t fix me, and that I need to put my trust in God, but I know you will try anyway.
You come to bed with me earlier than you want to, just because I ask you to.
You give me everything I need in this life and more.
You provide for my children.
You love me.
You are not afraid to confront me or argue with me when its important.
You encourage me to learn new things and ask me to stretch myself when I need a push.
You are, like I said, amazing.
I hope that I do half as much for you as you do for me because I want you to be happy and content. I hope that we represent the best this world can offer in relationships and give people hope in their own. I know that together, we can do anything we set our minds to.
We can love the world, the broken and hurting and scary world, because we have a solid foundation of love and trust, in each other and in our God. We can raise healthy and whole children against the odds. We can impact our neighbors, our coworkers, and friends at church. We can care for children who are not our own, but who just need someone to love them and meet their basic needs.
You complete me.
