Hello friends and family!
We’ve had such a great summer with a visit from Nate’s parents, a family reunion in July, three sets of weekend foster kids, and an upcoming visit from Becca’s parents.
Benjamin just had his 9 mo well visit. He is overall healthy and ~75% on height, weight, and head circumference. At 22 pounds, he is only about 5 pounds smaller than Hannah. He has been a bit congested and we discovered his first ear infection today. He’ll start antibiotics and hopefully all the congestion will clear up at the same time. He now has 8 teeth! I think he was cutting 4 at once a few weeks ago. He eats just about everything we put in front of him. He is generally very happy and content crawling around on the floor exploring. He’s starting to pull up and cruise so we expect walking soon. He also loves to throw balls and then crawl after them.
Hannah is talking up a storm. She repeats most of what we say, loves to “read” out loud, and loves to sing. We went through a round of fairly intense ‘tantrums’, but since we just ignore her when she jumps up and down and turns red, I think she realized they weren’t very useful and they have calmed down. I’m sure we’ll have some more bumps in the road, but most days are great.
We moved the kids into the same bedroom so we wouldn’t disrupt their sleep patterns when we have guests or foster kids. That has been a major blessing this summer since the last time we tried to move Hannah, she wasn’t very adaptable. We also hired a new nanny who we are very pleased with. She has a nursing background and most recently was employed in the infant room at a day care center. Our kids are cake compared to 6 babies at once!
Nate is going to be on a business trip for 4 days in a few weeks and Becca will have the kids by herself so we would love some prayer for that time. J
We pray the back to school season is treating you all well.
Stephanie R What a cutie! : )
Glad to hear the tantrums are under control – that was a great idea about how to get them under control!
