Another year has passed. Hopefully, we’ve done an OK job staying in touch with all of you, but if not, here is what we’ve been up to. . .
We started off the year with Gram and PawPaw visiting so our nanny could go on a cruise. We also went back on the foster care list in January. In February, we had Hannah and Nate’s birthday celebration and enjoyed hearing the great stories from Great Grandpa and Grandma’s 60th anniversary. We started Hannah on a preschool curriculum and she’s been doing great ever since. At the end of the month we had planned a trip for Nate and the kids to go to Texas while mommy got some alone time. They had a great time, but Becca ended up travelling for her Grandmother’s funeral. It worked out so nicely that she was free to go and get to see a lot of family. March brought us a little 4 yo boy who we kept until June. It was a whirlwind placement, but we feel like we made an impact on him and his extended family. We spent the week around 4th of July at Yellowstone with Nate’s brothers’ families. We were a little leery of the long drive with our kiddos, but they did great. They also did really well on the hiking trails and enjoyed the wildlife. When we got back we had a 6 mo for about 3 weeks while her foster family was out of state. Toward the end of August, Grandpa and Grandma Diltz visited. Becca headed out the next weekend to visit her sister Lisa with new niece Lydia as a birthday trip. We went back on the foster list in the middle of Sept and had a series of rapid placements, many of them were one night and a lot of the kiddos were placed with relatives. We got a 5 yo girl right before Halloween and inquired about her sister who is 4. We got the sister a couple weeks later. They will probably be a longer placement than we’ve been used to, but that might be nice for a change. We’re taking them to Disney as an early Christmas present and they’ll be tagging along on our Minnesota trip over the holidays. In November, Becca started a new position at Orbital (same place Nate works) in an attempt to shorten the work commute.
We’re still doing something sporty at least once a week, taking the kids to the park almost daily, men and women’s groups, small group, teaching 3rd and 4th grade Sunday School, and serving on the worship team. And sometimes we get some sleep!
Praying peace and love for each of you this Christmas season! God is awesome! Photos and other news: www.themoehrings.com
