Hannah finished her 16 week geography tweener this week. We did a map of Antartica, but it was kinda boring and I don’t have any stories for Antartica so we’ll watch some penguin movies tonight instead.
I’ve been trying to keep her ‘busy’ until next week with some puzzle books. She seems to like crosswords and some of the picture puzzles so we’ve been doing that as her development activities. We’re still working through some Sing, Spell, Read, and Write (1st grade) readers and she finished up the HWT Kinder book that we had. I’m going to hold off on starting the 1st grade one for awhile because there is a good amount of writing each day for the LA1 that we’ll be doing.
During this time, she finished up a simple math Kumon book and we went ahead and started on our Horizons Kinder. I had looked over the worksheets and realized that she could get most of the way through the first book (80 lessons) before I would have to teach her anything new. So we’re working through them quickly (2 a day) as a review just to make sure we don’t miss any topics like telling time or counting coins. She’s already on lesson 50. We were doing skip counting by 10s (to count dimes) the other day and Benjamin rattled it off from 10 to 50 in the background. hehe.
She is taking a ‘little chef’ class at the activity center for this session. She has learned how to make english muffin pizza, pigs in a blanket, and nachos. She even made pizza dinner for us last Friday. I will gladly do the dishes if she starts cooking dinner. 🙂
Can you please move closer so I can send Rhiley to you!
Mom and Dad said Rhiley was dancing and singing today. That’s what Hannah was doing. 🙂
