We took our circus tent out again with some friends for Labor Day weekend. We almost didn’t make it to the campsite as there was some flash flooding across the roads the night we were headed up there. The rain cooled things down for us nicely for the first night, unfortunately, the next night was fairly unbearable and the days were pretty hot as well. We’ve decided that camping closer to Phoenix (even with water) needs to happen in the winter and the rest of the time we need to go more north.
Nate got to start one of our fires with his fire starter and was pretty happy about that. We had s’mores twice, played horseshoes, played in the lake, got to ride in our friend’s inflatable boat, played in the rain, saw some wild burros, did a little hiking, and got nice and sweaty and dirty! Becca even got to read a book!
