Our first field trip in California was a free day at the South Bay Botanical Gardens. This place was huge. We probably did a very small part of it in the couple hours we were there. They had the lake drained though, so we missed out on that part. We’ll have to go back when its reopened next year. I enjoyed the plants, but the highlights for the kids were the dragonfly and hummingbird nest we saw and Hannah liked the roses. 🙂 They had a children’s garden with some nursery rhyme decorations and a trough of water so they could use watering cans to water the flowers. It had a miniature house and paths and the kids liked that a lot as well.
