While checking out the local attractions in Tehachapi, we decided to go do a tour of the Ostrich ranch. Our family had been there three years ago when we visited some friends, but the kids didn’t remember it at all. They enjoyed looking back at the pictures. The day was kinda yucky, so the birds didn’t look as pretty as they might have, but we still learned a lot and had fun feeding them. 🙂
-They don’t stick their heads in the sand.
-They weigh about 3 lbs when they are born and grow a foot a month until maturity.
-One egg is equal to about 3 dozen chicken eggs.
-Only two toed bird, largest bird, can’t fly.
-Never get sick, handle almost any climate.
