The beaches in SoCal build up ‘winter berm’ supposedly against winter storms and violent surf. Think man made sand dunes. The locals have decided that what these berms are actually for is an activity called sand sledding. 🙂 Basically snow sledding without snow or getting wet. We went with some hs friends last week. It had rained the day before so conditions were not optimal, but the kids had a great time anyway. Let me amend that, Hannah had fun sledding, Ben just played in the sand. Ben is not so good with heights and doesn’t even really like walking downhill too much. Surprising since he loves to jump down the stairs.
The rest of the photos are here.
Carolyn Abbey Logan How fun!
Danielle Olson I remember when you and your sisters came to mn and played in the snow and went sledding for the first time, about a million years ago! Before you guys moved over by Cassie and Josh. Sand is a new one for me, but it looks fun!
Ryan Griffin Ok, that’s awesome.
Rebecca Diltz Nate Moehring Haha Danielle Olson, I suppose we are about that old now. When we moved to TX we still had our snow sleds (don’t ask me why my parents moved them twice) and we would sled down the rocky hill.
Melanie Haack Thigpen that looks like fun!!!
