Today’s Nature Friday is brought to you by The Moehring Pond:
This white guy/gal has been hanging out for awhile, but today we had a grey/blue one. I think different species, but maybe boy and girl? I know very little about birds.
Also, we found these snails all lined up. I’m not sure about snail procreation (as in I don’t think it works this way), but the kids thought they looked like a little family. Hehe.
Rebecca Diltz Nate Moehring P.S. These cranes/herons(?) look pretty big. At least 3-4 feet tall. I wouldn’t want to get in a fight with one.
John W Whooping crane on left and blue egret on right…I think
John W Or the white one might be a Great Egret
Christina M Great egret and great blue heron.
Corey W The white is an egret as well. Whooping cranes have black around their beaks.
