Corey W I love rain barrels! One thing you might want to consider before filling up is that they need pressure to run out. Ours has a low spigot and we realized it was better to put a few layers of bricks under it after we had already placed them. Without it, it took 10 minutes to fill up our watering cans. Hope you get rain soon!
Rebecca Diltz Nate Moehring We have a bottom spigot on the back, I mostly use that. I’ve filled them up halfway to try them out. Haha.

Rebecca Diltz Nate Moehring Sheri, mine have a screen on top that reduces their access and there are supposed to be little capsules you can drop in that repel them as well. Right now it is too hot for them here, but I might buy the capsules in Sept/Oct timeframe if we need them.

Rebecca Diltz Nate Moehring Well, in TX it either rains really hard or it doesn’t rain for forever. So yes, when it rains they will be watered, but I’ll have to water them in between. The barrels have overflows in the back to keep from flooding the planters, but we have to do some rearranging because two of them flooded last night.
