We have 12 weeks left. I’ve scheduled it out around our summer plans and we should be finishing in July.
In bible, Hannah is finishing up her 3-year bible reading requirement for Girl’s Ministries. We also do a journaling activity each week from The BBC Manual. She also has a weekly reading from Daring to Live on the Edge. We still do a memory passage each week, she does a good job on those.
In history/social studies, we have finished Abraham Lincoln’s World and Story of the World: Early Modern Times and started Story of the World: Modern Age as our spines. We have selections from Usborne Encyclopedia of World History as supplemental info and images. She also has a weekly current events assignment from her World Teen magazine.
Read Alouds included Great Expectations, Only the Names Remain, and The Good Master.
Hannah does well with reading and writing most of the time and gets her creative assignment done each week. We have spelling in Sequential Spelling 4, poetry in Classic Poetry, and vocabulary in Wordly Wise 3000-Book 7.
Readers included Nory Ryan’s Song, Anna and the King, and Banner in the Sky.
Science this year is conservation, robotics, and technology. We finished up Canals and Dams, and worked through Energy. These books have reading sections and then suggested labs. Hannah has done a few of them.
For math, we are finishing up Horizons 6, almost done.
Extras are fun. Hannah is our worship leader at Active Love and she has volunteered to lead worship at WFA once a month since their pianist retired. She helps a lot at Connections. All the kids go to karate twice a week and they all tested for their yellow belts. Hannah turned 13 so we had a high ropes challenge party and got a second ear piercing for her birthday. We had trips to Bandera and Center Point to see family and lots of Easter themed events for church.
