We finished Core A on Oct 20th. 🙂 It was a good level for her. We are moving into the combined World History (B+C) to try to catch up a year.
For bible, Ginny was following along with Hannah’s bible reading plan for Girl’s Ministry. Over the past year we have added in the Daisey’s curriculum and we finished that as well. We also read selections from Egermeier’s Bible Story Book each day.Â
For history, we read through Wild Places, and The Usborne Children’s Encyclopedia. We also have missionary stories from I Heard Good News Today. We also read Curious George, Dolphin Treasure, James Herriot’s Treasury, The Hundred Dresses, and Least of All.
We had poetry in Llama Who Had No Pajama and Arnold Lobel Book of Mother Goose.Â
Ginny is still working through Horizons Math 3. I’m going to have her redo the first workbook in her new core to get these facts down better.
For language we have a weekly spelling list, grammar in Explode the Code 5, vocabulary in Wordly Wise A, and cursive with HWT. She has been reading through The Beginner’s Bible. She also has a creative assignment each week. Â
In Science, we let Ginny tag along with Joel in Science A. She will be starting her own science program with Core B+C. We have The Usborne Children’s Encyclopedia as our spine. We also read Caterpillars and Butterflies and How Flowers Grow. And we have some experiments and videos to watch each week.Â
Extras are the best of course. We had a trip to 6 Flags in September. We have weekly piano, karate, girl’s ministries. She has been helping with our customers at Connections and ‘babysitting’ little guy so I can get other stuff done. Ginny is in charge of feeding Samwise and learning about responsibility. Grandpa and Grandma Diltz came up for a visit and so did Gram. Then everyone went to Gram’s to help with yard work. Plus all the church and Connections events. We definitely stay busy!
Tanya S Good job, Ginny!
