Hannah finished up week 24 the same time as everyone else, I’m just now getting around to writing it up.
For bible, Hannah uses The Westminster Shorter Catechism as a spine. She is continuing to work through What if Jesus Had Never Been Born? as a theology book. She has some verses to memorize each week. Hannah is also participating in our church reading plan with Bible Project and stays mostly on schedule.
Math is Math U See Geometry. Hannah is doing pretty well.
Her spines for history are The Story of Christianity, The 100 Most Important Events in Christian History, and From Jerusalem to Irian Jaya. We still do timeline and current events on Fridays.
English Literature goes well. She finished Moon Over Manifest, read The Hawk and the Dove and its follow on The Wounds of God, and started Jane Eyre. She reads from A Child’s Anthology of Poetry for poetry selections each week. She does very well with her creative assignments. She also is continuing her Vocabulary from Classic Roots with book B, Analogies 2, and Sequential Spelling with book 7.
Science is Apologia Biology. She has a text and suggested reading plan and experiments. She has been having fun with her microscope assignments.
Hannah is enrolled in Business Computer Applications and Art Appreciation for dual credit this semester. Due to our summer travels she will miss summer session I but will take at least one class in summer session II.
Hannah tried to pack in all the big milestones in just a couple of weeks. She turned 16, got her drivers license (with a few trips to the DMV), and started her first consistent job working nursery at a church in Waco. She continues to be the worship leader at our church and has a babysitting gig, she’ll be able to go to their house on her own sometimes now which is a nice flexibility we didn’t have before. She is our craft teacher at VBS events and enjoys attending youth on Tuesday nights. During this unit, Gram came up for a visit for sports and birthdays. All the girls got to go to our Daddy Daughter Dance. We watched a bit of Benjamin and Joel’s basketball games, and we took a trip down to CP for cousin sports.
