2nd 6 Weeks of 7th Grade

Ginny is starting to get into a rhythm for 7th grade. Once volleyball was over, we had a bit more time to finish up school and have some free time each day.

We start our days with a devotion most of the time. Then Ginny has a book called The International Cildren’s Bible Field Guide with readings and questions. She also has bible passages to memorize for school, Rangers, and youth.

In history/social studies, our spines are The Story of the World: Ancient Times with the Usborne Encyclopedia 12,000 years of World History. We have a poetry book called Favorite Poems Old and New that we read selections from each week. We have a weekly current events assignmnet and timeline entries. Her read alouds for this unit were God King and Beyond the Desert Gate

Readers for this unit were Theras and His TownGreek Myths, and Mystery of the Roman Ransom.

Our language schedule consists of spelling with Sequential Spelling 2, grammar with Keys to Good Language 5, vocabulary with Wordly Wise 3000, Book 6, a cursive assignment, and a creative writing assignment each week.

Science has What’s Science All About? as a spine. Her experiment book is called Chemically Active. We have managed to do most of the experiments.

In math, Ginny is working through Horizons 6. Ginny has been doing fairly well most days.

Ginny enjoyed her volleyball season playing on the B team, I think she learned a lot and got more confident, she should play on the A team next year. They had a season ending party that she enjoyed. Her other activities are youth group and Rangers each week. We had a couple fundraisers she participated in so she could attend winter retreat. We had church events and Connections events. Grandpa and Grandma came for a volleyball game as well as a friend from Austin name Jayle. We had two campouts and took a trip to Kerrville to see cousin Lilly play some volleyball. The most exciting thing that we did was to host a purity ceremony for the youth and Ginny along with 15 other youth participated. Ginny also picked out a pretty cool purity ring to wear. 🙂
